Lori works closely with employers to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment statutes, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She conducts audits of employers’ personnel files and postings to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and also conducts due diligence associated with mergers and acquisitions.
Lori regularly counsels clients in matters related to family and medical leave issues, unemployment and workers’ compensation insurance matters, state and federal WARN Act requirements and compliance, state criminal and background check laws, requests for accommodation of disabilities, independent contractor issues, risks associated with the hiring of employees subject to restrictive covenants, employee disciplinary matters, reductions in force, voluntary termination packages, individual employment terminations, and post-employment contractual, fiduciary and other legal obligations. Lori also regularly conducts training for employers and employees on numerous employment issues.
